Until 2022, the kids in Ampara had no access to tennis. However, the arrival of Mr. Damayantha Wijaya Sri as Deputy Inspector General of Ampara marked a significant change. He initiated the construction of the district's first tennis court at DS Senanayaka College. Eight additional tennis courts were built consecutively at Polwaththa Vidyalaya, Hardy Advanced Technological Institute, Gamini Vidyalaya, and Ampara Senarath Somarathna Ground.

Mr. Damayantha Wijaya Sri, driven by the belief that all children deserve equal opportunities regardless of their birthplace, has worked tirelessly to support the children of Digamadulla. Despite facing numerous challenges, his visionary leadership has greatly benefited the community. DIG Damayantha Wijaya Sri’s ambition is to develop tennis players from Ampara who will one day achieve international titles.
